About

ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) is a technical specification from the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative that defines how to improve the accessibility of web content and applications, particularly those with dynamic interfaces and custom controls.

It provides a set of roles and properties that can be added to HTML to describe user interface elements, their relationships, and current states, enabling assistive technologies such as screen readers to interpret widgets, live updates, and complex interactions that are not natively accessible.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are an international standard developed by the W3C that defines how to make web content, including text and media, accessible to people with disabilities.

They are technology-agnostic and structured around four core principles (perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust) and define testable success criteria with three conformance levels (A, AA, AAA) used to evaluate accessibility compliance.
