After a supply chain attack in 2024 involving its cdn.polyfill.io domain, the service was discontinued and is now safely mirrored and maintained by 
Cloudflare under independent management.
Preact is a fast 3kB alternative to 
React with the same modern API.
It offers a virtual DOM, support for hooks and components, hydration for server-rendered content, and compatibility with many React-style tools through adapters.
