About
Unix is a family of multitasking, multi-user operating systems originally developed at Bell Labs that became one of the foundations of modern server, networking, and enterprise computing.
It introduced portable C-based system architecture, hierarchical file systems, command-line shells, pipelines, user permissions, background processes, and a modular design philosophy built around combining small utilities through standard text-based interfaces.
Windows is a family of proprietary operating systems from Microsoft used on personal computers, servers, and virtualized environments.
In its Windows Server editions, it combines web hosting through IIS with support for ASP.NET, application pools and SSL management, alongside Active Directory for centralized identity, Hyper-V virtualization, PowerShell automation, and hybrid cloud integration with Azure.
