Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) is an HTTP header-based mechanism used to safely bypass same-origin policy and allow requests to other domains.

HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) is an application-layer protocol used to transfer resources such as HTML documents, images, and other web content, forming the foundation of data communication in web browsers.

It uses a stateless request-response model between clients and servers, defines standard request methods such as GET and POST, uses headers for metadata and caching control, and typically operates over TCP or TLS in the case of HTTPS.
