🆚 DNS Prefetch vs. Flying Pages
Type
About
The rel="dns-prefetch" attribute on HTML <link> elements.
Flying Pages is a WordPress performance plugin that preloads pages in the browser before navigation to deliver near-instant page transitions.
It injects a lightweight script of about 1 KB, detects links in the viewport and on mouse hover to start prefetching, limits requests using an internal queue, pauses preloading when the server is under load, and skips it entirely for slow connections or data-saver modes to avoid unnecessary resource usage.
