About

Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a markup language and file format for storing, transmitting, and reconstructing structured data in a platform-independent way.

It uses a hierarchical tree structure with custom-defined tags, supports schemas such as DTD and XML Schema for validation, enables namespaces to avoid naming conflicts, and is widely used in formats and protocols such as RSS, SOAP, and configuration files.

YAML ("YAML Ain't Markup Language") is a human-readable data serialization language designed for representing structured data and exchanging it between systems and programming languages.

It uses indentation-based syntax with minimal structural characters, represents data using three core primitives such as mappings, sequences, and scalars, and includes features such as anchors and aliases for referencing data, along with a simple typing system for numbers, strings, and booleans.
