About

Akamai mPulse is a real user monitoring (RUM) solution that collects performance and user experience data directly from visitors' browsers to measure how websites and applications behave in real conditions.

It captures over 200 performance and business metrics per session, correlates them with outcomes such as conversions and revenue, provides real-time dashboards and anomaly alerts, and includes features such as Core Web Vitals tracking, third-party resource monitoring, and bot detection.

The Web Vitals library is a lightweight JavaScript library for measuring Core Web Vitals and related performance metrics on real users in the browser.

It is a modular package of about 2 KB that exposes functions for metrics such as CLS, LCP, INP, FCP, and TTFB, uses the PerformanceObserver API with buffered entries to capture data even after page load, and supports integration with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
