About

Google Front End (GFE) is Google's globally distributed reverse proxy that accepts client connections at the network edge and routes requests to Google services.

It provides TLS termination, request routing, load balancing, and protection against denial-of-service attacks, and is available only as the underlying infrastructure for Google Cloud Load Balancing and other Google services.

Traefik is an open-source reverse proxy and ingress controller that routes traffic to services and APIs across containerized, virtual machine, and serverless environments.

It automatically discovers services from Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, and Amazon EC2, supports the Kubernetes Gateway API and over 85 Ingress NGINX annotations, and combines API, AI, and MCP gateways with multi-layer routing and service-level middleware.
