About

Microdata is an HTML specification used to embed structured metadata within web page content by annotating elements with machine-readable attributes.

It uses attributes such as itemscope, itemtype, and itemprop to define entities and their properties directly in markup, supports vocabularies such as Schema.org, and is one of the structured data formats supported by Google alongside JSON-LD and RDFa.

The Product Types Ontology is an e-commerce classification vocabulary that provides standardized definitions for product and service types used in structured data markup.

It contains around 300,000 product and service type definitions organized in a hierarchical taxonomy, extends the Schema.org and GoodRelations vocabularies, and enables merchants and marketplaces to describe product semantics more precisely for search engines, catalogs, and commerce applications.
